Accessibility Statement
Date Adopted: August 2025

At Lighthouse Dementia Support, accessibility is not an afterthought—it’s a founding principle.
We are committed to making our services, resources, and communications inclusive and usable for everyone, especially those affected by dementia, their families, and carers. We understand that accessibility means more than just compliance—it means creating spaces where people feel safe, respected, and understood.
What we do to support accessibility:
Plain English: We write in clear, everyday language to make our materials easy to understand.
Visual clarity: Our branding and documents use high-contrast colours, legible fonts, and thoughtful layouts to support those with visual impairments or cognitive challenges.
Alternative formats: Wherever possible, we offer materials in large print, audio, or digital formats that can be read aloud by screen readers.
Inclusive experiences: We design our workshops and events to be welcoming to people with different sensory, mobility, and communication needs.
Website accessibility: We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards and are continually improving our site to ensure it works well with assistive technologies.
